01 — About Shemio Studio

Shemio Studio ("Studio," "we," "us," or "our") is a creative studio offering premium Squarespace website templates and related services for entrepreneurs and small businesses. These Terms govern your purchase and use of any digital template products and any add-on services (including our Template Installation Service) available through our website.

By accessing our site, purchasing a template, or purchasing a service, you ("Buyer," "Client," "you," or "your") agree to these Terms in full. If you do not agree, please do not complete a purchase.

02 — Digital Products

All templates sold by Shemio Studio are digital products delivered electronically. Upon purchase, you will receive access to your template via a email invitation, download link, or demo installation link, as specified at checkout.

Because our templates are digital goods, delivery is considered complete once the link or ownership transfer has been provided. Please review the live demo carefully before purchasing.

03 — License & Permitted Use

When you purchase a Shemio Studio template, you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, single-use license to use the template for one (1) website — either your own personal or business website, or one (1) client website.

You may:

  • Install and use the template on one (1) Squarespace website.

  • Customize the template to suit your brand — colors, fonts, copy, images, and layout adjustments.

  • Use the template for a client project, provided the license covers one site only.

You may not:

  • Use the template on more than one website without purchasing an additional license.

  • Resell, sublicense, share, redistribute, or transfer the template to any third party.

  • Claim the template design as your own original work.

  • Use the template to create derivative template products for resale or redistribution.

  • Remove or alter any attribution or copyright notices embedded in the template files.

Each additional website — whether your own or a client's — requires a separate template purchase. Bulk or agency licensing inquiries are welcome; contact us directly to discuss.

04 — Template Installation Service

In addition to our digital templates, Shemio Studio offers a Template Installation Service as an optional add-on purchase. This section governs that service specifically, in addition to the general terms elsewhere in this document.

What's included. The Template Installation Service includes full installation and setup of your purchased template, content placement (text, images, and branding elements you provide), mobile and desktop optimization, basic on-brand styling (fonts, colors, and spacing aligned to your existing brand), and one (1) round of revisions.

What's not included. This service covers installation and light customization of your purchased template only. It does not include custom design work, copywriting, brand strategy, logo or brand identity design, e-commerce or third-party app configuration beyond standard setup, ongoing site maintenance, or SEO strategy. These may be scoped and quoted separately upon request.

How it works. After purchase, we will send a short intake form to gather your content, images, and brand details. Within five (5) business days of receiving your completed intake materials, we install your template and bring your content into place. You will then receive a preview link to review the site and share feedback. We complete one round of revisions based on your notes, and once you're happy with it, your site goes live.

Client responsibilities. To keep your project on schedule, you agree to complete and return the intake form with all requested content in a timely manner, provide images you have the rights to use, respond to preview links and feedback requests within five (5) business days, and maintain an active Squarespace subscription with the access needed for us to complete the build. Delays in providing content, feedback, or approvals will shift the delivery schedule accordingly.

Revisions. One (1) round of revisions is included following your preview. Additional rounds, or changes requested after launch, are welcome and will be billed at the Studio's then-current hourly rate, quoted before work begins.

Confidentiality. Any non-public business information you share with us during this process — including login credentials, brand strategy, or unreleased materials — will be kept confidential and used only to perform the service, except as required by law.

05 — Pricing & Payment

All prices are listed in USD unless otherwise stated. Payment is processed securely at checkout. Shemio Studio does not store your payment information.

Prices are subject to change at any time. The price displayed at the time of your purchase is the price you will pay — changes to pricing do not affect completed transactions.

For the Template Installation Service, payment is due in full at checkout and secures your place in our production queue. Work begins once payment is confirmed and the intake form is received.

Customers in Canada may be subject to applicable taxes at checkout in accordance with Canadian tax law. Customers in the United States may be subject to state or local sales tax where required by law.

06 — Refund Policy

All sales are final. Because our templates are digital products that are delivered immediately upon purchase, we do not offer refunds, exchanges, or credits once a transaction is complete.

We encourage you to review the live demo for each template thoroughly before purchasing. If you have questions about whether a template is right for your needs, please reach out before completing your order — we are happy to help.

Exception: If a template is found to be materially different from its described or demonstrated features due to an error on our part, we will work with you to resolve the issue, which may include providing a corrected file or, at our sole discretion, issuing a partial or full refund.

For the Template Installation Service specifically: because this service reserves dedicated production time, fees are non-refundable once the intake form has been submitted and work has begun. If you cancel before submitting the intake form, we will refund the fee paid, less a $100 administrative fee. If you become unresponsive for more than thirty (30) days after purchase, we reserve the right to close the project without a refund; resuming work afterward may require re-booking at our then-current rates.

07 — Intellectual Property

All templates, designs, layouts, graphics, and associated files created by Shemio Studio are the intellectual property of Shemio Studio and are protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws in Canada and the United States.

Purchasing a template or the Template Installation Service grants you a license to use the design — it does not transfer ownership of the underlying intellectual property. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved by Shemio Studio.

Upon completion of the Template Installation Service, you own the content you provided (text, images, branding) as installed on your live site.

Shemio Studio retains the right to display template designs and completed installation projects in its portfolio, marketing materials, and on its website, unless you request otherwise in writing.

08 — Disclaimer of Warranties

Templates and services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Shemio Studio does not warrant that templates or installed sites will meet every specific business requirement, be free of errors, or be compatible with all third-party tools, plugins, or integrations.

For the Template Installation Service, Shemio Studio warrants only that the service will be performed in a professional manner consistent with generally accepted industry standards. We do not warrant that your website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with future changes to the Squarespace platform.

Squarespace is a third-party platform. Shemio Studio is not affiliated with Squarespace Inc. and is not responsible for changes to the Squarespace platform, its features, pricing, or availability that may affect how a template or installed site functions after purchase.

It is the buyer's responsibility to ensure they have an active Squarespace subscription compatible with the purchased template.

09 — Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shemio Studio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your purchase or use of a template or service, including but not limited to loss of revenue, loss of data, or business interruption.

In no event shall Shemio Studio's total liability to you exceed the amount paid for the template or service giving rise to the claim.

10 — Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

If you are a customer located in the United States, you acknowledge that these Terms are governed by Canadian law, and any disputes shall be resolved in the applicable courts of Alberta, Canada, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction.

11 — Changes to These Terms

Shemio Studio reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting to our website with a revised effective date. Continued use of our site or products after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

We recommend reviewing this page periodically. We will not notify buyers individually of changes to these Terms.
