01 | About Shemio Studio
Shemio Studio ("Shemio Studio," "Studio," "we," "us," or "our") is an Alberta, Canada-based sole proprietorship that creates and sells pre-designed Squarespace website templates and offers related Template Installation services.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and purchase and use of Shemio Studio website templates and Template Installation services.
By purchasing a product or service from Shemio Studio, you ("Buyer," "Client," "you," or "your") agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not complete a purchase.
02 | Squarespace Website Templates
Shemio Studio sells pre-designed single-page Squarespace website templates intended primarily for established businesses and entrepreneurs.
Templates may include additional bonus pages or layouts, such as a Link-in-Bio page or 404 page, as specified in the applicable product description.
The exact pages, sections, features, and other materials included with a template are determined by the product description in effect at the time of purchase.
Templates are pre-designed digital products. Purchasing a template does not include customization, installation, ongoing website management, custom design, or other professional services unless expressly stated otherwise.
Unless you separately purchase Template Installation, you are responsible for customizing, configuring, publishing, and maintaining your website.
03 | Template Pricing, Purchase and Delivery
Unless otherwise stated at checkout, Shemio Studio website templates are currently priced at $250 USD.
Prices may change for future purchases without notice. A price change does not affect a purchase already completed.
Applicable taxes may be charged where required by law.
Templates are digital products delivered electronically. Following successful payment, access to the purchased template will be provided using the delivery or transfer process specified by Shemio Studio.
Delivery is considered complete when access to or transfer of the purchased template has been made available to you.
You are responsible for providing an accurate email address and maintaining access to the account or email address used for delivery.
Because templates are pre-designed products, you are responsible for reviewing the applicable live demo, product description, included pages and sections, platform requirements, and other available information before purchasing.
Template demonstrations may contain sample copy, placeholder business information, stock photography, graphics, fonts, branding, or other demonstration materials. Unless expressly identified as included with the purchase, these materials are for demonstration purposes only and may not be licensed for your use.
04 | Template License and Permitted Use
Purchasing a Shemio Studio template grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, single-use license to use the purchased template for one (1) Squarespace website.
You may customize the template's editable elements for the licensed website, including your own copy, imagery, branding, colours, and typography.
You may make reasonable modifications to the template for your own licensed website, provided those modifications do not involve reproducing or distributing the template as a competing or derivative template product.
You May Not
You may not:
Use a single template purchase on more than one website.
Duplicate the template for use across multiple businesses, brands, websites, or projects without purchasing an additional license.
Resell, sublicense, distribute, share, reproduce, transfer, or otherwise make the template available to another person as a template or digital product.
Share template access for the purpose of allowing another person to avoid purchasing a license.
Claim the underlying Shemio Studio template design as your own original template design.
Use the template, or substantial portions of its design, to create templates, website kits, design systems, or similar digital products for resale, licensing, or distribution.
Remove or alter copyright or ownership notices embedded in template materials, where applicable.
Each additional website requires a separate template purchase unless Shemio Studio expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
Purchasing a template grants a license to use the template; it does not transfer ownership of Shemio Studio's underlying intellectual property.
05 | Template Installation
Template Installation is an optional done-for-you implementation service available for eligible Shemio Studio templates.
The template itself is not included in the Template Installation fee and must be purchased separately.
Unless otherwise stated at checkout, Template Installation is currently priced at $550 USD.
Template Installation is intended for clients who already have finalized branding, website copy, imagery, and other required content.
Shemio Studio installs those finalized materials into the existing Shemio Studio template design.
Template Installation is an implementation service. It is not custom web design, brand development, copywriting, content strategy, or creative direction.
06 | What's Included in Template Installation
Subject to the selected template and materials supplied by the Client, Template Installation may include:
Existing Brand Application
We will apply your supplied logo, brand colours, and brand fonts, where applicable, to the existing template.
Your branding must be finalized before the project enters production.
Copy Placement and Formatting
We will place your final website copy into the applicable areas of the template and make reasonable formatting adjustments necessary for presentation within the existing design.
Copywriting, messaging development, and substantive copy editing are not included.
Image Placement
We will place your final supplied photography and imagery into the template and may reasonably crop, resize, position, or style those images for use within the existing design.
Photography, stock-image sourcing, and image-selection services are not included.
Link-in-Bio Setup
Where the template includes a Link-in-Bio page, we will populate it using the final copy, links, and assets you provide.
Basic Squarespace SEO Setup
We may configure basic Squarespace SEO settings using information supplied by you.
This may include:
Page title.
Meta description.
Social-sharing information and imagery.
Image alt text based on the information and context you provide.
Basic SEO setup does not include keyword research, SEO strategy, content strategy, technical SEO consulting, ongoing optimization, backlink development, ranking monitoring, or a guarantee of search-engine visibility or performance.
Client-Supplied Policy Pages
We may format and install up to two (2) client-supplied legal or policy pages, such as a Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
You must supply the final text.
Shemio Studio does not draft, review, approve, interpret, or provide legal advice regarding these documents as part of Template Installation.
Responsive Review
We will review the installed website on standard desktop and mobile layouts and make reasonable implementation adjustments necessary for the supplied content to function within the existing template.
07 | What's Not Included
Unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing, Template Installation does not include:
Custom website design.
Layout or structural changes to the template.
Additional pages or sections.
Brand strategy or full brand identity development.
Logo design.
Development of a new colour palette or typography system.
Copywriting or substantive copy editing.
Photography or stock-image sourcing.
SEO strategy or keyword research.
Ongoing SEO services or ranking guarantees.
Drafting, reviewing, or providing legal advice regarding policies or other legal documents.
Domain connection.
Third-party integrations or external platform setup.
Custom coding or advanced development.
Ongoing website maintenance.
Strategy calls, consultations, or meetings.
A standard creative revision round.
Requests outside the included scope may be declined or separately quoted by Shemio Studio.
08 | Client Materials and Production Readiness
Template Installation is a production-ready service.
Before your project enters the production queue, you must provide all materials and information reasonably required to complete the installation.
Depending on your template, these may include:
Existing logo files.
Final brand colours.
Final brand fonts or typography information, where applicable.
Final website copy.
Final photography and imagery.
Business and contact information.
Calls to action and links.
Link-in-Bio copy and links.
Final Privacy Policy and/or Terms of Service content if you want policy pages installed.
Required Squarespace access or permissions.
Any other content specifically requested during onboarding.
Materials must be complete, final, reasonably organized, and ready for installation.
Shemio Studio is not responsible for creating missing materials or making branding, content, legal, or strategic decisions on your behalf.
Your project timeline does not begin when Template Installation is purchased. It begins only after all required materials and access have been received and Shemio Studio confirms that your project is ready to enter production.
09 | Client Responsibilities
You are responsible for the completeness and accuracy of all materials you provide.
Before submission, you are responsible for proofreading and approving your:
Website copy.
Business and contact information.
Prices and service information.
Links and calls to action.
Legal and policy content.
Claims and testimonials.
Images.
Brand assets.
Other supplied content.
You are also responsible for maintaining the Squarespace subscription, domain, third-party licenses, font licenses, accounts, and other services necessary to operate your website unless expressly agreed otherwise.
Shemio Studio is not responsible for errors already present in final client-supplied materials.
10 | Squarespace Access and Account Permissions
Template Installation may require you to grant Shemio Studio appropriate access or permissions to your Squarespace website or account.
Where possible, you should provide access using Squarespace's available contributor, collaborator, or permission features rather than sharing personal passwords.
You are responsible for ensuring that Shemio Studio receives sufficient access to perform the agreed work.
Shemio Studio will use account access only as reasonably necessary to perform the purchased service, troubleshoot installation-related issues, or complete handoff.
You remain responsible for the security and administration of your account and for removing or changing Shemio Studio's access after the service has been completed where appropriate.
11 | Rights to Client-Provided Materials
You represent and warrant that you own or have obtained all necessary rights, licenses, permissions, and consents for the materials you provide to Shemio Studio, including copy, photographs, images, logos, fonts, graphics, trademarks, testimonials, and other content.
You authorize Shemio Studio to access, reproduce, upload, resize, crop, format, modify, and display those materials to the extent reasonably necessary to perform Template Installation.
You retain ownership of your pre-existing client materials.
Shemio Studio is not responsible for determining whether client-supplied materials infringe another person's copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, licensing, or other rights.
You are responsible for claims arising from materials you provide where those claims result from your failure to obtain the required rights or permissions.
12 | Project Scheduling, Delays and Inactivity
Production dates and completion timelines are estimates unless Shemio Studio expressly agrees to a guaranteed deadline in writing.
Your project does not enter the production queue until all required materials, information, and access have been submitted and Shemio Studio confirms that the project is production-ready.
Incomplete submissions, changed materials, unavailable access, client delays, platform problems, circumstances outside Shemio Studio's reasonable control, or requests outside the original scope may delay or pause the project.
If required materials or access become incomplete after scheduling, Shemio Studio may remove the project from the active production queue. Rescheduling will be subject to current availability.
If you fail to provide information, access, or responses reasonably required to complete an active project for more than thirty (30) consecutive days, Shemio Studio may consider the project abandoned and close it.
Reopening an abandoned project is subject to Shemio Studio's availability and may require a rebooking or restart fee quoted before work resumes.
Amounts already earned for work performed or production capacity used are non-refundable except where otherwise required by law.
13 | Scope Changes
Template Installation is based on the materials and scope established when the project becomes production-ready.
If you replace or materially change your copy, imagery, branding, links, policies, or other supplied materials after production has begun, Shemio Studio may:
Decline to incorporate the changed materials;
Adjust the project timeline;
Remove the project from the current production queue; or
Quote the additional work separately.
Requests for structural changes, additional sections or pages, new creative direction, or other work outside the Template Installation scope are not included in the service fee.
14 | Implementation Corrections and No Standard Revision Round
Template Installation does not include a standard creative revision round.
Because the service installs finalized client materials into an existing template, changes based on new preferences or changed client materials are outside the included scope.
Shemio Studio will, however, correct reasonable implementation errors attributable to our installation.
Examples may include:
Supplied copy that was accidentally omitted or entered incorrectly.
An incorrect supplied image being placed.
A supplied link being entered incorrectly.
An included setting being missed.
A display issue caused by our implementation that falls within the agreed scope.
Implementation corrections do not include:
Rewriting or replacing client copy.
Changing supplied imagery because your preference has changed.
Changing your branding, colours, or fonts.
Adding new material.
Rearranging the template based on a new preference.
Adding pages or sections.
Changing the underlying template design.
Correcting errors that were already present in client-supplied materials.
Additional changes may be declined or quoted separately.
15 | Completion, Client Review and Handoff
Template Installation is considered complete when Shemio Studio has performed the included installation scope and made the completed website available to you through the applicable Squarespace account or handoff process.
You are responsible for reviewing the website following handoff and before publishing or relying on it for business purposes.
This review should include, as applicable, copy, images, links, contact details, forms, pricing, policies, SEO information, and other business content.
If you identify an implementation error attributable to Shemio Studio, you should notify us promptly so that we can review it.
Following handoff, you are responsible for maintaining and updating your website, maintaining your Squarespace subscription and domain, maintaining third-party accounts and licenses, and making future content or platform changes unless separately agreed otherwise.
16 | Payment
All prices are displayed in the currency identified at checkout. Shemio Studio currently sells its templates and Template Installation service in USD.
Unless otherwise stated at checkout or agreed in writing, payment is due in full at the time of purchase.
Payment is processed through third-party payment providers. Shemio Studio does not directly store complete payment-card details.
Applicable taxes may be charged where required by law.
Additional work outside the purchased scope may require separate payment before that work begins.
17 | Refunds and Cancellations
Website Templates
Because Shemio Studio templates are digital products delivered electronically, template purchases are final and non-refundable once access to or delivery of the template has been provided, except where a refund or other remedy is required by applicable law.
Please review the template demo, product description, included content, and platform requirements carefully before purchasing.
If the delivered template is materially different from the product purchased because of an error attributable to Shemio Studio, contact us so that we can review the issue and provide an appropriate correction or remedy where applicable.
Template Installation
Template Installation involves reserving production capacity and performing services specifically for the Client.
If you cancel before submitting your project materials and before Shemio Studio has begun project preparation or production, Shemio Studio may issue a refund of the Template Installation fee less a $100 USD administrative and scheduling fee, except where otherwise required by law.
Once required project materials have been submitted and Shemio Studio has begun reviewing, preparing, configuring, or installing the website, the Template Installation fee becomes non-refundable to the fullest extent permitted by law.
A change of mind, change in business direction, inability or failure to provide required materials or access, decision not to launch the website, or decision not to use the completed installation does not create a right to a refund for work performed or production capacity used.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived.
18 | Intellectual Property
Shemio Studio Intellectual Property
All Shemio Studio templates and their original designs, layouts, styling, graphics, components, design systems, creative direction, and associated materials are owned by or licensed to Shemio Studio and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Purchasing a template or Template Installation does not transfer ownership of the underlying template or Shemio Studio intellectual property.
Your use of the template remains subject to the license contained in these Terms.
Client Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of original copy, photographs, logos, trademarks, and other materials you owned before providing them to Shemio Studio.
Providing those materials for Template Installation does not transfer ownership to Shemio Studio.
Third-Party Assets
Fonts, photographs, plugins, software, integrations, graphics, and other third-party materials may be governed by separate licenses or terms.
You are responsible for obtaining and maintaining licenses necessary for your continued use of client-supplied or third-party assets unless Shemio Studio expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
19 | Portfolio and Promotional Use
Unless you request otherwise in writing, you grant Shemio Studio permission to display the completed visual presentation of your website in our portfolio, website, social media, marketing materials, educational content, and promotional materials for the purpose of showcasing our work.
This permission does not transfer ownership of your business, trademarks, copy, photographs, or other client-owned materials to Shemio Studio.
We will not intentionally disclose confidential, non-public business information solely for portfolio purposes.
You may request in writing that your project not be displayed publicly.
20 | Confidentiality
Shemio Studio will take reasonable steps to protect non-public business information and project materials provided to us and will use them primarily as necessary to perform the purchased service, operate our business, exercise rights granted under these Terms, or comply with applicable law.
Confidentiality does not apply to information that:
Is already publicly available through no breach by Shemio Studio.
Was lawfully known to Shemio Studio before disclosure.
Is lawfully obtained from another source without a confidentiality obligation.
Is independently developed without use of the confidential information.
Must be disclosed pursuant to law, court order, or lawful authority.
Personal information is also handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
21 | Squarespace and Third-Party Services
Shemio Studio templates are created for Squarespace, an independent third-party platform.
Shemio Studio is not Squarespace and does not control Squarespace's platform, pricing, functionality, availability, policies, or future development.
Squarespace and other third-party platforms, fonts, plugins, domains, integrations, payment processors, analytics services, and external tools are governed by their own terms and policies.
Shemio Studio is not responsible for third-party changes, outages, discontinuations, account restrictions, pricing changes, compatibility changes, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
You are responsible for maintaining the accounts, subscriptions, licenses, and payments required for your website following delivery or handoff.
22 | No Guarantee of Business or SEO Results
Shemio Studio does not guarantee that a template or installed website will produce any particular search ranking, website traffic, lead volume, conversion rate, revenue, sales, customer response, or other business result.
Basic SEO setup does not guarantee indexing, search visibility, traffic, or rankings.
Business and search performance depend on numerous factors outside Shemio Studio's control.
23 | Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Shemio Studio templates and services are provided "as is" and "as available."
We do not guarantee that a template or installed website will:
Meet every particular business or technical requirement.
Remain completely free from errors or interruptions.
Remain compatible with every current or future third-party service.
Remain unaffected by future Squarespace or third-party platform changes.
Template Installation will be performed with reasonable care consistent with the defined service scope.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
24 | Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Shemio Studio will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from or related to a template, Template Installation, website, third-party platform, or these Terms, including loss of revenue, profits, data, business opportunities, goodwill, or business interruption.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shemio Studio's total aggregate liability arising from a particular product or service will not exceed the amount paid directly to Shemio Studio for the product or service giving rise to the claim.
These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
25 | Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold Shemio Studio harmless from third-party claims, liabilities, damages, costs, or reasonable legal expenses arising from:
Materials you provide that infringe or violate another person's intellectual property, privacy, publicity, licensing, or other rights.
Your unlawful use of a Shemio Studio template or installed website.
Your breach of the template license contained in these Terms.
Your violation of applicable law in connection with content, products, services, statements, or claims published through your website.
This provision does not require you to indemnify Shemio Studio for liability caused solely by Shemio Studio's own unlawful conduct where such indemnification is prohibited by law.
26 | Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Subject to mandatory consumer rights or jurisdictional protections that may apply, disputes arising from these Terms or a purchase from Shemio Studio will be submitted to the courts of competent jurisdiction in Alberta, Canada.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to deprive a consumer of rights that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
27 | Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically to reflect changes to our products, services, business practices, or legal obligations.
The version applicable to a purchase is generally the version in effect when the purchase is made, except where a later change is required by law or expressly agreed between the parties.
Changes governing future purchases become effective when the updated Terms are posted on our website.
28 | Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
29 | Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the applicable product or service description, Privacy Policy, checkout terms, and any written agreement expressly incorporated into a purchase, constitute the agreement between you and Shemio Studio concerning that purchase.
If a specific written agreement expressly conflicts with these Terms, that written agreement will control with respect to that conflict.
